New offer! More housesitting than the usual HelpX listing:
From 5 May to 2 June I will be away and my granny flat will be available for a single or couple. The house will still be inhabited by a man and his dog. There are few requirements of a house sitter besides taking the dog for a walk daily and helping to keep house and granny flat clean and tidy. (the property is 2 hectares and sits next to a state forest with walking trails and a mountain biking park of international renown.)

We do prefer singles, but will consider a twosome. Ability to take on responsibility, good housekeeping skills and dog friendliness are essential. Our gardening is pretty simple but there is lots of it!
We are located around the corner from Atherton town but nearly surrounded by bush.
Opportunity to check out the farm worker situation on the Atherton Tablelands. Before committing to a hostel stay, explore what the farm work prospects are.

The town: Atherton, 1 1/2 hours from Cairns on Atherton Tablelands
The house: old and funky. located 1 km from town in beautiful bush setting next to hills full of walking/cycling tracks.
The people: An eccentric pair of Baby Boomers live here. 3 days weekly there are colleagues in my business working out of my home office. (of course, we have good WiFi as well as a spare computer). You have your own room.

Non-smokers and non-drug users only please. Although it looks like we are in the bush, an urgent requirement for no loud music and/or parties as it is, in fact, a very quiet neighbourhood.

The Atherton Tablelands boasts plentiful waterfalls, stunning scenery and abundant wildlife. This is an ideal location to get to some of the most visited tourist attractions on the Tablelands as well as some of the lesser known natural splendours.
