This is a heritage house and large garden overlooking the very beautiful Avoca river, and right behind the main street of Avoca, a small town in the Pyrenees wine region of central Victoria.

There is a large vegetable garden and a general garden based on "natural sequence farming' strategies. The house is being made continually more self-sufficient.

Lyndal jones is an internationally recognised artist and the house and garden has become 'The Avoca Project' an artwork focused on place (Avoca) and climate change with annual exhibitions held there.

The next exhibition will take place from 25th November 2016. It will include 8 artists working through a series of residencies from September to create large-scale ecological sculptural, sound and lighting installations throughout the house and garden. There will also be a series of flower-arranging classes leading to performances by members of the local community.

You are invited to join us in the development of this exhibition - either to work on particular artist projects or more generally on the house and garden.

To do so, you dont need to know anything about contemporary art.
