Our house is a small renovated stone barn in a beautiful location in the mountains. It is 4km up a forest track, has solar electricity and water from a spring. We're growing as much food as possible while trying to live an off-the-grid, low impact, and sustainable lifestyle. With us are 2 cats, 2 donkeys, 3 dogs, 3 horses, and about 40 chickens (and 1 beehive). We've been growing food organically in the UK for 15 years and now here in France for the last 8. Six years ago, we started gardening using Permaculture principles and we both did a Permaculture Design Course.

As usual, there are always lots of projects and jobs to do. This year we want to re-design our water supply system using gravity-fed methods. There is more fencing and water harvesting ditches to dig, we'll be planting more fruit trees and shrubs in the 'forest garden', and we've just started renovating an old stone barn and we want to repair and old stone wall. We are always busy with general gardening, harvesting & preserving, gathering & preparing firewood, and looking after the animals. We work hard but in exchange we offer good food, a very comfortable yurt with a wood burning stove, much laughter, and the chance to exchange skills & knowledge. We're not vegetarians (our meat comes from small local farms) but we can cater for a vegetarian diet.
