We have renovated a luxurious historic homestead located on edge of Shepparton in Victoria which has some B&B accommodation. The garden is 2 hectares with forests, a lake and a sunken garden. It is used for weddings, garden tours, wedding receptions and small functions. It is located 180km north of Melbourne in the heart of the fruit and wine region of Victoria and 40 minutes from the mighty Murray River. To view photos of the property go to the website listed above and a video of the property on YouTube. Our garden was in the Australian open garden scheme for 20 years and is often used for charity events. It is very large to maintain in peak condition and we would love you to come and assist us with the garden and homestead maintenance. In particular our organic vegie garden becomes overgrown very quickly at times and we use the produce from this to feed our guests or make home made preserves, pickles and chutneys. Dependent on the time of year your stay could involve anything from assisting with the preparation of food for weddings or events, picking fruit nuts and olives from our small orchard (one tree for each fruit) cleaning windows or the bed and breakfast rooms (of which you will be in one) to gardening or putting out chairs for the wedding ceremony. In return we will provide you with a B&B room with ensuite and board. The property is well known across the region and has been the venue for many special events in the lives of many of the residents of Shepparton. We believe ourselves to be custodians of its history as it belonged to one of the original pioneer families in the region. Hence we feel the need to share it and maintain its importance to the community. We love having visitors and I am considered by the locals to be a good chef. We look forward to sharing our piece of paradise. In March our focus will be on assisting with functions and the garden. At the moment there are a few jobs to do on the house. We have been blessed with wonderful helpers and feel we now have friends all over the world.
