In the hilly village of PakSong in Southern Thailand is located our organization that was set up in 2007 with the aim to encourage and spread knowledge on natural building and taking care of the environment by living in a self-sustainable and ecological way. The Center occupies a small piece of land nestled between the PakSong river and the Thai Child Development Foundation premises.

We have been building with clay, bamboo, river stones and other natural materials we find locally. These techniques have proven to be cheap, environmentally friendly, and a positive social impact. It is, however, not a fast way of building. And we build the simple way with simple tools keeping it accessible to all. So, building a natural house is really suitable to organize in a project with a small group of motivated and interested people.
Creating a building out of natural materials is a perfect way to use all your skills, your body and your creativity.

We strongly believe in the environmental and social benefits of building houses this way. We really want to promote this way of building and the use of natural and local resources for people living in the country side.

We continue to work on our building projects, expanding and improving our existing buildings . The Center will always be used as a place of learning (learning by doing), such that we will always be building, improving, maintaining, and experimenting with building at the Center. Though the Center is at a phase where we are developing the interstitial (in-between) spaces with permaculture and inhabitation still using natural and recycled construction methods. With the goal of turning this place into a full LIVING Center as it continues to be used as a Natural Building learning center and example.
We are working at develop an ecological life-style to go with the natural buildings and use alongside the natural buildings as an education tool. In times when social and economic crisis seem to be on the rise we think it is important to not count on our food coming from outside sources with prices and availability fluctuation. Besides, crisis or not, there is a sustainable element in picking the vegetables in our curries and salads from the back yard helping diminish the amount of fuel used for transportation and knowing that they are fresh and organic. This way of life we are suggesting is particularly geared to people living in the country side but small and partial elements of natural building and eco living can be incorporated into urban life. As there are many people living in the cities and suburbs growing gardens. To reach full self-sufficiency is difficult but every little step in that direction is positive for us humans and for our planet.

Your help in realizing the dream of the center will certainly enrich your experience as well as let you see the wonderful and joyful activities that the area has to offer.

We ask a participation fee of 2500 Thai baht per week to host you and provide you with three good meals a day our Living Home run by our Thai family. The place is located in a beautiful garden on the banks of a river. The accomodation is clean and the family welcomes you with Thai hospitality.

The rooms are simple and clean. You share a room with no more than 3 people. The beds have mattresses, covers, mosquito nets and pillows. (Bring your own sheet and sleeping bag if you prefer).
Two toilets and three showers are available.
