We are looking for someone who can help us with painting, cleaning, building and some weeding.
15 hours of work per week per person for the nice funky self-contained accommodation (no meals). A couple or 2 friends with wwn transport will be ideal.
Our property is located in the Tweed Valley surrounded by 3 World Heritage National Parks. The farm is made up of 130 acres, half of which is regenerated forest that allows for plenty of walking trails for exploration. The other half of the property is made up of extensive sub and tropical gardens, orchards, veggie gardens, worm farms, a tree nursery and plenty of amazing views!
We try to live as sustainably as possible and practice permaculture to create an environment that is in harmony with the natural world. Everything on the farm is used to its fullest potential in order to maximize the benefit. There is no waste here!
We have hosted over 200+ wwoofers since 1998 and we love having new and interesting people to exchange ideas with.
We can sign up for 2nd working holiday Visa.
What you will be doing...
Activities are very diverse and can vary from day to day. The primary role at Mystic Twig is plant cultivation so you will be helping to grow and support our gardens. Mulching, weeding, planting, fertilizing, maintaining the garden/surrounding areas, and developing new growing areas are all jobs that occur around the farm. The work is generally physical (but rewarding!) so please be ready to work outdoors in the elements. (Also, we have lot of bugs and wildlife around so be prepared for living quite close to nature!)
It is easy to check out Nimbin or Byron Bay and there is a thriving live free Music cafe at Mt Burrell (about 10mins away) every Sunday.
Helpers stay in a funky self contained cabin.
Accommodation only, no meals included.
Wifi connection is available at the main house.
How to get here...
Nimbin is about 15min away from the farm (Lismore 40min, Murwillumbah 40min and Byron Bay 1hr). There are buses that travel from Lismore or Nimbin and can stop at the front gate if you let them know a head of time, or else get off at the Twin Bridges bus stop (about 100 metre from the farm).
With arrangement, we might be able to pick you up from Nimbin, Byron bay, or Lismore.

There is also a shuttle from Byron Bay to Nimbin. http://www.visitbyronbay.com/accom_result1/nimbin-shuttle-bus/
