We may have a few openings in Late July, August, September and October.

The work arrangement is 4-5 hours a day for 5 days and 2 hours one day out of 7.

Our property is 10 acres of forested ocean front property. We have about 1 acre in organic vegetables, berries, fruit trees and mushrooms.

We have lots of garden jobs that depend on the time of season (planting seeds, transplanting plants, weeding, building new plant beds, pruning trees and berry shrubs, harvesting food, etc.)

We also have lots of building projects going on and would greatly welcome people with carpentry, building, masonry and general handiperson skills.

The island we live on has a Finish heritage, is close to First Nations culture, we see whales and porpoises regularly.

We have kayaks & bikes for you to use. There is a sauna on the beach. Enjoy peaceful hikes through the forest or along the beach. This is quite a beautiful quiet and unique part of British Columbia.

To get to our place you travel North on Vancouver Island (Hwy 19) to Port McNeill. From Port McNeill you take a 25 minute ferry to Malcolm Island. We are 5km from the ferry terminal. There is bus service to Port McNeill from Victoria and Nanaimo. It is about a 15 minute walk from the bus drop off to the ferry terminal. We can pick you up at the ferry. Often we are able to arrange to pick you up either in Nanaimo or Victoria depending on our travel schedule.

We can sometimes arrange to pick you up in either Victoria or Nanaimo.
