We own 25 horses and go out on up to 3 treks a day in this stunning location in Queenstown.

We welcome experienced confident horse persons who'd like to help with the horses and treks from September to May. Stays of four weeks & longer are preferred (many of our helpers enjoy it so much they've stayed months.... one says she's staying 3 years!!)

Most of our guests are beginner riders so we need our guides to be very competent riders in order to focus completely on our clients.Jobs also include helping to muck out paddocks, looking after the horses eg water and feeding, paddock cleaning. Maintenance of horse tack and riding gear. Saddling and unsaddling horses before and after treks, washing and brushing horses. Taking off the horse's covers on sunny days and putting them back on before night or bad weather. Along with other odd jobs around the house and gardens. Our trekking season is over summer and starts at the end of September and goes until the end of April. After each winter we are really looking forward to returning for trekking, and are excited to be working in such a beautiful location. We are looking for happy, outgoing people who are very experienced and confident with horses. We need you to be able to make the experience memorable for all of our guests - this means that you need to be able to talk to people from all backgrounds from all over the world! Some of our guests are nervous, so having a calm and reassuring manner is helpful. Confidence when speaking to large groups is an advantage as we need our guides to give a short safety demonstration at the beginning of the rides. You do have to have good English speaking skills, but having guides who can also speak other languages is very beneficial with explaining things to foreign customers. We need people that are happy to work in a team environment and also can be responsible for jobs on their own, but also who don't mind taking instructions. We prefer our helpers to stay for at least 4 weeks as this allows time to learn the treks and procedures and to relax and enjoy what you are doing. Longer stays are also welcomed. We aim to have a happy friendly family environment, both at the house and at the trek base. If the above sounds like you, please contact us!
