We are currently NOT taking any helpers from countries affected by Corona Virus, as we are in a vulnerable group. However from the end of October we will be looking for some help. Small organic farm with animals. We have a luxury caravan for helpers to stay in(it has an out side bathroom and kitchen area as well as the ones in the caravan. We require person/persons to help run our small farm and duties would be planting, weeding, watering, helping construct animal shelters and feeding of animals. Occasionally looking after the farm over night so we can have a break. Must be dog friendly!!!!!!This is a working farm and as such the proper working cloths and footwear(boots)are essential. In the past helpers who turned up with just flipflops made it clear they were not here to help but to try and have a free holiday. We are not a campsite(FREE) for travelers.Genuine helpers are always welcome. We expect you to pay for yourself on days out although we do provide three good meals a day with drinks when you are on our farm. We have had people who come with no money and expect us to keep them even on their days away from the farm.(we are not your parents)Anyone not stopping for the full time agreed will not be taken back to the coach station and will have to find their own way. Again this hard line has been caused by people leaving early saying their mother was very ill but was found to be on the beach two weeks later. (Mum must have recovered very quickly) If you really want to come and help we will be good hosts and treat you well but please, please, please read our profile and if you still want to come you will be welcome!! We get at least 10 enquires a week but although we answer them all most have also contacted 30 other places leaving a lot of unhappy hosts. As hosts we can see exactly who you have written to, how many characters you have used and the dates and times that you sent any messages so it's obvious to us that if you are multi messaging. This implies to us that you don't know what you want or where you want to go!!Please see all our feedback and on the negative one please read our reply. It may make you think that you are reading about a different host. Well the truth will out.Can we please point out we have 10 dogs who all live eat and sleep in the house. In the warm months we live eat and relax out side with our dogs, but in the colder weather we live in the house with our family of dogs so if you are not sure whether you could live with dogs please go else where and save us all upset of you arriving and then leaving because of the them.It is now becoming a regular ask from helpers asking for payment for helping. Your payment from us which is inline with the ethos of helpx is your board and lodging and days out. If you require payment then may we suggest that you get yourself a job and then travel later on in life when you can afford to!!
