Dogs Mountain Sanctuary was established in 2006. A solely privately funded and run venture founded by John R. Hughes, an Artist from Brighton, UK. The Sanctuary was set up to rescue dogs from cruelty, neglect and abandonment, especially rescued from the Dog meat trade.

This volunteer placement opportunities offers Dog Care (Animal Care) and Veterinary care for animals that are in great need. Providing care and welfare take a hands-on role with dogs and cats, working in a sanctuary care. This program is an unforgettable experience in companionship with Manís best friends. From working with these grateful animals like animal care & veterinary care gives you rewarding hands-on experience.

Are you interested in animal welfare and have a passion and love for the animal and working with animal rescued and providing care for an animal in need. That you are passionate about? You are an animal lover or either in the field of veterinary medicine or seeking a career in the veterinary profession or are you studying to become a veterinarian, Then our Dogs Mountain volunteer program would be a wonderful experience for you! to enable you to gain some knowledge and put your passion and skills into the experience, and you can learn new skills and gain new experience.

The program provides you ample opportunities to share your passion and knowledge and your skills participate in all aspects of sanctuary care. There is always work to be done on-site. It's a great opportunity to experience our Filipino culture and volunteering in a meaningful experience while working with rescued animals who can benefit most from your empathy.

This program contributes to the Animal life Improvement, you will be involved in a wide range of animal care and welfare hands on role with dogs and cats, and addition routine care at the sanctuary. This sanctuary is home of over 145 rescued dogs and 8 rescued cats who will be enjoying the benefit of your care.

Our goal is to ensure the health and safety of all the animals at the sanctuary and the most important aspect of all is to provide enrichment to both the volunteer and the animals.

As a volunteer on this Project you will help provide care for the dogs and cats here.
Many of those rescued from the dog meat trade have been sick and starved and in need of medical care. Damaged bones and in addition to their routine care and maintenance. They need desexing, de-worming, inoculations, treat wounds, eyed and ear care, any other pertinent medical care required. We need your participation to achieve these goals.

Whether you are on the gap year from your education, or on a career break, or as part of your extended holiday. No matter what your experience , we have a place for you! This program will provide you with a unique insight into what itís like to working hands-on with animal in way unlike anything you can do at home.

Are you up to the challenge? While working, with these grateful animals, you will have ample opportunity in Veterinary Care and Dog Care.

Spend your days surrounded by courageous canines at a renowned and ethical sanctuary. Enjoy helping these animals get both the emotional and medical care that they need.

Please take note this program's minimum requirements:

*Age 18 years old and above
*Basic Level of English
*Love and Respect for Animals
*Willingness to work and dedication and get your hands dirty
*Able to handle extreme heat to the weather in the Philippines is a tropical country, temperature and humidity (donít forget to bring sunblock with you to protect your skin)
*Motivation to work with animals
*Good attitude and Friendly
*Be flexible and open-minded to do all kinds of chores, depending on program needs.
*Able to cope with basic conditions

Please Note:
*All participants must have they own travel insurance during your program

*Rabies and anti-tetanus vaccine is strong advised for this program( Please consult doctor before your departure)

*All participants volunteers are expected to follow instruction and advise given by the team leader and adhere to the rules, regulations and safety measures establish by the Sanctuary.

*All participants volunteers must also have ability to be independent (volunteers will work according to their own initiative)
