Spring time on an organic farm in the gorgeous southwest of WA is pretty special... if you'd like to come join us during the main planting season send me a message!
We are a small certified Organic orchard growing mostly mandarins/oranges but also growing small scale fruit and vegetables to sell on our roadside cart. Trying to ramp up production and put in a market garden soon!
We are very keen on community building and local food networks so are doing our best to expand the range of local organic foods available by figuring out how to increase farm production while still building soil and increasing biodiversity and environmental health... and the happiness and well being of humans and animals, too. We need help to do this as we haven't enough hands, time, or energy to do all of this important work by ourselves. This year is going to be a big year in improving farm systems and fertility - we are determined! If you'd like to be a part of that then please get in touch!
We need help planting, pruning, watering plants, feeding animals, moving fencing, weeding, preparing garden beds, harvesting crops, cooking, mulching, building, projects.... In return we can offer food, accommodation and education/discussions about organic farming, permaculture, gardening, soil biology, compost making... we are all still students of life ourselves so very happy to learn from you too!
We have geese, ducks and chooks so lots of animals to see.
Lots of (friendly) dogs so you probably have to like dogs at least a little to enjoy your stay here. If you DO like dogs they are all wonderful and gorgeous dogs and you can have lots of cuddles :D
We are interested in permaculture, regenerative agriculture, food forests, building soil fertility, soil biology, designing efficient farm systems, reducing waste and making compost so if you are keen on any of those things it might be fun to chat about it all.
A note on my reviews - I should mention that the first few reviews are when I lived at my old house/farm, and the latest ones are from after I moved to the organic citrus farm (which I do not own, but live/work on, sharing the property with the owners and a few others). This will explain any discrepancies between older/newer reviews :)
