I have a mobile home free, it's completely self contained with 2 bedrooms a wood fire, washing machine, gas shower and compost toilet. I need help in the tunnels and getting the garden back together after being ignored for a couple of years. I've been working on paying back for a 10 acre plot we bought and I've been working too hard to spend much time in my own garden. There's a few bits of veg around though and eggs from the chickens. I'm just about to plant the peas and beans as I've a couple of days off. I will give an allowance for food and there is plenty of wood in the shed because I am still working away a lot. The work will be light enough. Jack may be looking for a hand sometimes down on the land. We are building an office and storage shed at the moment on the new land and planning for solar pannels. It's not much to look at yet though, just sticks coming out of the ground! we have done a bit of ditching and put in hedges, medicinal and edible and a bit of stock proof hedging. I will teach you as much as I can when I am here, but at the moment it's only a few days a week.
Full board and lodgings for 20 hours, spread over 4/5 days once you are trained in the tunnels, it's light enough work, we will teach you to be fast and efficient. There's no smoking in the tunnels because of tobacco virus and you need to love every little baby you plant to help it grow!! The hours can be very flexible once you are settled and sometimes you might prefer work 2 days really really hard on a project and then take the rest of the week off with just a bit of a job here and there. We can discuss this when you email me. People usually come for about a month, this is my preferred time as it takes a week to train and settle in. If we all get on, you can stay longer! We will know in the first week how it is going to work out.
Independent, easy going, liberal minded, unjudgemental people is what we are looking for, we are who we are, this might be 5 star reviews, but it's not 5 star accommodation! If it rains there is mud, bring wellies if you can, otherwise there are old waterproofs around.
We grow medical herbs for resale, so an interest in this area would be good.
I have a large grown up family (there are 5 of them, They are all around, in and out) and a busy business life. There is plenty happening in the local area, if you are into alternative living. The best pubs are 15 km away in Bantry, the local shop is 4 miles away.
There are 3 acres here, and we have just bought another 10!! There's a veg and herb garden in the ring fort and 3 tunnels,

We're a pretty chilled bunch, unique in our own way, a bit chaotic. We're happy to welcome like minded folk who are able to help themselves,
Other than that this is west cork, an alternative experience. Plenty of alternative scene, beautiful country side, ceili dancing on a Tuesday at one of the local pubs, music in bantry at the weekends and a great market on fridays. We are 4 miles to the nearest shop and pub, one mile from future forests. I can arrange to collect people from cork and there are always lifts about to go places.
