We are located in a wonderful bay on the Atlantic coast of Morocco, in an authentic berber village, Tafedna, yet preserved from mass-tourism.

We are in the process of building an ecological structure (eco-lodge) with phytotreatment basins for the water, dry toilets, waste-sorting and upcycling. The total area consists of 8 Berber Tents, A main building with a library open to all, traditional hammam, tapas bar and restaurant and a huge terrace over-looking the ocean. We have just recently opened up the Berber tents for accommodation while we are still working on the main building.

We are currently running an artist residency program, hosting artists from both Europe and Morocco to create on a specific theme at least twice a year. we have worked with the local school, the fishermen, women making argan oil and have hosted various musicians.

We are after motivated people with common sense and who carry a sense of pride in their work. We all work together as a team and are after people who can take on some responsibility and work with initiative.

Out here in the Moroccan country-side the life can get tough and the work hard. But if you have common sense and are motivated it's paradise.

We ask for 6hrs of 'work' a day, with two days off per week

In return you have shared dorm accommodation, breakfast, lunch and dinner, tea/coffee and water for free, half price surf hire and half price of all other drinks at the bar. If you need internet, we do not offer WIFI. But as a volunteer and guest you can buy a SIM-Card in the beginning, which cost you 50 DH. It includes 1 Giga and 1/2 hour of call, but you can charge it and use it as long as you need it. We are 700m from the beach and the surrounding area is spectacular!

We look for a variety of people carrying a range of skills and prefer those who can stay at least a month so they can really become part of the team.

1. We need people that have plenty of hospitality experience to help serve food and meals at breakfast, lunch and dinner time to guests. We look for people to help out at reception to do check ins, check outs, talk to guest and maintain guest interaction.

2. We need people to take care of the general camp area including the growing garden, composting toilets, sewing the tents and generally keeping the camp in order.

3. Carpenters/Plumbers/Electricians/Handy-people Please apply! We are still in the process of building and are always after people who have experience in construction and can help us keep building and general maintenance of the place.

We are expanding our garden and are in the process of finishing our water filtration system based that allows us to water the garden using recycled water all year round. We have a large vertical garden on the terrace that contains edible plants and flowers.

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

Out here you can learn to surf with the locals - our surf instructor is always happy to go out with friends and volunteers. He lives in the little village Tafedna which is a 20 minutes walk from our Hostel. There you also find the surfspot. The area is rich with incredible landscapes and there are amazing walks to really explore the coastline.

At the lodge we are a mix of Europeans and Moroccans - Some only speak Berbere, Some only English, Some only French - It is a great place to pick up on languages and join our interesting mixed conversations!

The local women make Argan oil from hand and are always ready to share their secrets (and some of the workload! :) ) with those wanting to learn.

We hold regular Artist Residencies that are completely interactive and can be from Painting to Film to Music - each one is different.

Food is our passion and we create incredible fusion meals - the chefs are always sharing their secrets and love outside input and ideas. If you love cooking or want to improve your skills we can definitely help!

The entire place is built by hand following ecological principles - sustainable building, eco-concepts, water filtration, composting, etc. A great place to learn those techniques and give your own ideas!
