Aloha nui loa,

If you are an independent, loving and hard working person who is looking to assist with various aspects of running a Bed & Breakfast, interested in growing organic foods and connecting with nature, seeking to move yourself forward in Spiritual, Emotional, Mental and Physical growth, we invite you to participate in our Contributing Traveler Program at our B&B/Healing Arts Center!

As the "Ohana" team, we are a family of about 10 people who love to enjoy life and work together cooperatively - in loving harmony.

Our beautiful indoor/outdoor accommodations attract people from all over the world! The activities include snorkeling, diving, hiking, biking, yoga, etc. We are situated on the southern side of Kona - only 3 minutes drive from the best snorkeling beach on the Big Island called "Two Steps".

We are 19 miles away from the heart of Kailua-Kona, so if you are interested in what the city has to offer, then our Ranch is probably not suited to your needs. Since we have our own little community of wonderful people, no one seems to mind that we are in the county, away from the hustle and bustle of traffic and city business.

Help Needed
Cooking / shopping
General Maintenance
Help in the house
Animal care
Helping with Tourists
Art projects

Contributing Traveler's duties include the following:

Housekeeping, guest assistance, gardening (weeding, watering, compost maintenance, etc), cleaning kitchen and other facilities, running errands, maintenance duties.

Some other tasks require physical exertion, so you must be ready and physically able to perform all of the above duties without causing harm to yourself or the others.

For the gardening, we are looking for self reliant individuals that are not only used to hard work in nature already - but most importantly those who care about the Aina (the Hawaiians lovingly call their land "Aina" which means "that, which feeds us"). We want to pass down the knowledge of, connection with and love for tending for the plants and the soil to anyone who welcomes this with open arms. We are sculpting the land for our own needs - not growing produce for selling. Therefore, we have an intimate team contributing to our common belief.

The Hours of Contribution are as follows:
- 25 hours per week in total
- 5 hours per day, 5 days per week
- 2 days off per week. Note the scheduling of the days off will be determined by us depending on how busy we are at the moment.

Minimum 2 months stay (if you cannot commit to a two-month stay, a separate arrangement will need to be settled with us). Preferred 3 months stay (extensions are gladly granted for superior individuals or couples who show consistent integrity and 100% joyous commitment).

Exchange Component:
In exchange for your 25 hour per week help you will receive the following:

- Grains (Rice, Quinoa, Oat Meal)
- Greens from the garden (subject to availability)
- Free purified filtered water
- Basic accommodations
- Free internet with Wifi
- Clothes washing facilities
- Access to extended library
- Use of snorkeling gear
- Linens, towels and toilet paper

Basic Accommodation is provided. It includes:
- Mattress, linens and towels, a washing machine, high speed internet, use of the open air area for exercise, yoga and meditation.
- The Hale in the Trees contains rooms and lofts with a gorgeous coast-line view; kitchen and bathroom shared with the other volunteers. Depending on the number of volunteers and availability, you may have a private shed or a camper.

Free Time
In your free time you can walk to the beach, or go traveling to other parts of the island. In addition, you can participate in workshops often held at the ranch, or organize and facilitate your own; play musical instruments or read books from the extensive library.

And please remember: it is a drug-free zone!
