WHAT WE OFFER Converted stone-built barn with almost an acre of land in a tiny village in Northern Tuscany, with a self-contained double bedroom apartment (with basic kitchen) for our guests. We are an English/Australian couple and we speak English, German, and Italian.

Excellent accessibility via train station (4km) and autostrada (2km), walking distance to bar and pizzeria and close to large-ish town with all amenities. Main meals (or the makings of, if you prefer) and weekly laundry provided. I was a professional cook, so you'll always eat well! WiFi and DVD library. Best dogs in the world.

5 hours of work per day, excluding Sundays or another day of your choice.
Hard working, adaptable and easy going people who know 'general garden maintenance' may sound like a doddle, but that it is tiring (although not back-breaking) and somewhat tedious work. We also have specific projects:
Building a non-DIY store garden shed
Stacking wood - really, this is not as glamorous as it sounds
Fruit tree pruning
Laying stone paving...the list goes on.

Self-reliance. Patience.
You MUST be OK with dogs and cats - not allergic, phobic etc, or generally weird. However, musicians are particularly welcome.

We always have general maintenance and gardening jobs to do. These jobs are (sorry if I'm preaching to the choir) generally boring after you've gotten over the fact that you're doing them in Italy. But! This is a naturally beautiful part of Tuscany and if you like walking, regional gastronomy and medieval architecture, and don't mind mucking in, you'll have a wonderful time. Non-smokers only. LGBT-friendly. Come prepared to work in the rain. Come prepared to work in the sun. Be prepared to do something else.
