Looking for help with digging, weeding plastering and general construction ,carpentry gardening cleaning sewing some elecronics ....I'm a single father with 3 kids (all adult... my son ,21, stay sometimes as does my grandson. I share with an old friend Stephen who is an artist and a photographer We live in Lockridge to the east of central Perth. It is a working class 70's suburb with strong links to local,Bibbulmun, aboriginal culture. The area is very close to a tributary of the Swan river. It has extensive wetlands as well as vineyards a brewery restaurants and a metropolitan campsite. It is well serviced with public transport and bike paths.35 mins to central Perth in rush hour,50mins by bike. Its a very multicultural area with many Vietnamese Indian and African residents. The Swan river is 10mins bike ride away and excellent for kayaking fishing swimming etc.We have lived here for 3 years and are seeking help to manage a permaculture garden and convert a garage to a usable studio as well as to do various domestic and building chores to help us out and keep us company.
2 meals a day, mostly vegetarian; altho' I eat a little meat. I am an ex professional Vegetarian chef and a props maker;we are looking for active friendly motivated self-reliant people with common sense and some construction, sewing and gardening skills to stay.I like to start work early if the forecast is for a hot day and
4-5 hours help per week day would be expected. I try to provide a choice of tasks to suit helpers.
First contact is usually at the local suburban train station to allow all parties to assess how suitable the arrangement might be; having said that I have never turned anyone down. If you are flying in to Perth you can access the local bus services by taking the free shuttle bus to the domestic air terminal where a bus leaves for the city centre.Ask for the closest stop to the su urban train station and take the Midland line from platform 9 to Bassendean station where we can meet.
