sustainable woodland management to bring the woodland back into active management utilising low impact silvicultural systems
use of green woodworking tools and methods to produce a range of traditional woodland products, such as cleft post and rail fencing, gates and roofing shingles from sweet chestnut, bean-rods, pea-sticks, hurdles and charcoal from Hazel
use of an Alaskan type chainsaw-mill to produce saw timber products
cutting, splitting and stacking firewood from our sustainably managed woodland.
We have the right tools and materials to carry out a plethora of projects to a high-standard, for example, land management equipment (AKA boys` toys) includes: digger, tractor, ride on mower, a fleet of chainsaws and brushcutters/strimmers, ect.
The cottage rental and cycle hire/tours business will be closed from September 28th - December 20th to enable us to complete a few of the projects listed above.
Please get in touch if you can you can offer assistance, letting us know which project(s) you are interested in and we`ll send further information.
Accommodation-wise, we can potentially offer you: a mobile-home; detached single bedroom stone cottage; two bedroom cottage (if more than one HelpXer); or feel-free to pitch your tent/yurt/caravan/campervan/WHY.
