Thank you for taking the time to check us out. We can be found just off the N2 on the Garden Route in Plettenberg Bay South Africa, we are situated 4.5km from town in the forest between an array of fragrant Fynbos on a high cliff overlooking the Roodefontein Dam and an amazing valley with an Array of views that stretches all the way to the Robberg Peninsular.
Our One of a kind hostel will take your Breath away with all its beauty and nature.
We offer volunteers accommodation, food and free internet and discounts on selected activities in Plettenberg Bay if you stay longer than a month.
Position 1: Front of House staff. We need an enthusiastic, self motivated, flexible person to work flexi time (when there are guests we work very hard and long hours). Duties range from - Housekeeping (lots of cleaning, this never stops), front desk/reception, checking in/out guests, bar and general running of Lodge. SERVICE IS OUR NUMBER 1 PRIORITY.
Position 2: Plott clearing, our new project is to clear all the bush surrounding the lodge.
This individual should be able to work unsupervised and in a timely fashion.
No chancers this is hard work
My husband Matthew and I are always on hand as we like to be involved and we run the kitchen, we do have cleaning staff that help too.
We are looking for volunteers all year round and we ask that you stay from 2 weeks to 6 months!! Please let us know what position you are applying for.
Information to help you, during your stay.
1. Hire a car, we have a good car dealership that we work with and you can hire a car from R180 per day.
2. Bicycle, we have a bicycle available for you to use for free, if you break it you fix it
3. cabs, Marcellos is our local cab service and they are charging from R80 - R120 to town.
Laundry: Regretfully we are unable to do your laundry as we only live off rain water. We have a great laundromat in town, here you can wash yourself or you can give it too them and they can wash it for you.
Animals: we have 3 dogs (who are probably the real bosses and 2 cats), we do live in nature and our animals help us keep the unwanted wild life away e.g baboons, monkeys ext....
Once you have decided to come to Plett we will collect you from the Shell Ultra on the N2 in Plettenberg Bay.
Summer (December - February) our weather can reach up to 32 degrees so shorts and T-shirts are great to work in, but always remember to bring something warm as we can have a chilly day.
Autumn (March - May) weather temperatures can still be quite warm reaching up to 27 degrees, the evenings can start chilling down a bit
Winter (June - August) winters are not bad at all, we do have winter rain so some days can be 17 degrees or a little less and other days can reach up to 25 degrees, evenings are cold.
Spring (September - November) starts off chilly and then starts warming up between 25 - 27 degrees, still a bit chilly in the evening.
We look forward to hearing from you!
