Spring and early summer 2020: Help needed to work in forest camping area creating a vibrant vegetable garden, pruning trees, building a hot compost shower, looking after ponies and full eco restoration of stone building in the forest. All with a view to becoming more and more sustainable in every way at Paladini: if you think of a project to make us all more self-sufficient you can do it.

We work from 08:30 to 12:30 each morning from Monday to Saturday in a stress-free environment, the rest of the time is yours to enjoy the mountains, scenery, walking & nearby villages. If you want to take the full weekend off to travel and see other parts of Tuscany you can. Artists, carpenters, engineers, and visionaries particularly welcome to develop this wild woodland into a cool living space MUSICIANS of course always popular we sing many evenings late into the night and turn up at local festivals to busk etc.

Also looking for two people to house-sit Paladini from end of June to mid August - must speak at least basic Italian and if possible should come and visit well in advance to meet Colm & co and see the place.

Accommodation is very comfortable usually in a twin room, in our own home which is finished to a high standard. All meals included. When house is full or rented we all move down to the yurt, barn & camping area - yurt heated and comfortable, fully equipped outdoor kitchen, 'ringfort' bonfire every night, solar showers and compost loos - for full details see Wild Camping Paladini on facebook or airbnb.

We are located in a small hamlet overlooking Castelnuovo di Garfagnana, one hour north of Lucca, in the Appenine Mountains with fabulous views of the Apuan Alps. We are fifteen minutes from Castelnuovo the nearest train station, and 1.5 hours from Pisa Airport. The location is very rural, although the villages of Chiozza (20 mins), Castiglione (30 mins) and even Castelnuovo (1 hour) are reachable on foot. There are buses from just outside the train station - last one leaves at c. 4pm - text Colm for up to date times.
