4 Places available from Nov 29th to Dec 23th

A great opportunity to work in one of the UK's steam railways.

You will be helping British volunteers serving drinks and snacks aboard authentic steam trains. Your task will include preparing the stock, interacting with the passengers, running the bar and working a trolley service through the train. No experience is needed as training will be provided. Accommodation will be in the station itself, you will be granted access to a sleeping compartment in a decommissioned sleeper car (as shown in the photos) as well as access to the staff area where an individual shower and bathroom are at your disposal. Laundry is also provided and WIFI is available in the station. The station has its own Pub and is located near the centre of the town where supermarkets and businesses can be found in walking distance. You will be asked to help for 5 days a week and 3-6 hours per day but you are not as bound as the other volunteers and can take your days off as you please. You also get a 30% discount in the station's cafeteria as well as free travel on the railway and access to the railway's museum "The Engine House".
It is important to note that the railway is entirely run by volunteers (except for the engineers and admin staff) which means that the ambience is not one of a workplace. The Severn Valley Railway is a group of friends and families bound by a common passion for the railway. A passion we invite you to share with us for a few weeks in the beautiful British countryside. I am always available to answer any questions you may have. PLEASE NOTE I WILL ONLY RESPOND TO EMAILS VIA THIS WEBSITE
