On your way to Alaska?
Our family of 5, run a mixed ranch operation, 26 km north of Dawson Creek and 45 km south of Fort St John (an easy drive to airports either city). We breed Black Angus cattle, Performance horses, Cashmere goats, and produce our own hay (though we are always looking for some new way to expand). As well, we have chickens for our own consumption(plus a few friends) a mascot pot belly pig named Louis, a couple of wiener pigs for the freezer, 3 Australian Shepherds and a pair of Maremma guardian dogs. Our eldest daughter is in Australia and so we are looking for 1 or 2 helpers for the 2016 growing season. Preferably someone with some construction aptitude or experience operating equipment. Our girls competed in high school rodeo, gymkhana and our son is a team roper. So if you like to ride western we will be a great fit! Accommodations will be in the family home accompanied by 3 square meals a day plus dessert more times than not and your choice of whatever snacks are available. We are pretty open as far as wherever you may come from, as we have hosted both a German and a Japanese exchange student previously. We hope that you may contribute in any area of the farm to whatever your capacity that interests you: animal husbandry, exercising horses, construction, running equipment, fencing, yard maintenance, gardening, etc. The Kiskatinaw River is 5 minutes from our ranch for a nice getaway. If you would like to experience Northern life on a growing ranch operation with wide open spaces and rolling hills, we look forward to hosting you! Come see the Northern lights! We are open to host starting Spring 2016.
