Ask for Winter-Spring availability for February, March, April, May (ideally 3-4 weeks long).

Our farm project consists of a sustainable approach to life in its various aspects: energy, farming, and travelling. An essential sustainable element to this project is work-exchange itself, as our volunteers have the opportunity to engage with these approaches, learn from them, and experience cultural enrichment not only through a placement at the farm but also through contact with guests from all over the world.

A placement here is ideal for volunteers who are looking for a unique work-holiday experience in a friendly , open, and engaging atmosphere. We are located in the countryside but are also very close to the historical center of Perugia (1.50 euro bus ticket to town), so it will be very easy to experience the different aspects of both farm and city life.

We offer, free internet access, free guest kitchen with breakfast, lunch on working days , free swimming pool use, and more, including the opportunity to contribute to the management of a working farm and a bandb.

Please send us an email only after having read our profile description carefully and having considered if our placement is a good fit for you.

We need help running our farm-hostel which includes:
- Guest check-ins and assistance, (obviously, this is more relevant during mid-high season) setting up breakfast, looking after the swimming pool, general cleanings, and other various tasks.
- Outdoor jobs include gardening, planting and harvesting (garlic, olives, etc) taking care of the farm animals (horses, donkeys, chickens, etc), painting and other DIY jobs that vary according to season.
Work is usually 4-5 hours per day, depending on the number of guests and DIY projects of the season.
Physical presence is also sometimes required for a few hours during the afternoon to check guests in, interact with them, serve them at the bar, and make them feel at home. We cannot stress enough the importance of this last part. The guest-volunteer relationship is indeed a special one, an opportunity to exchange travellers` tales, bond over new cultural experiences acquired at the Farmhouse and explore the surrounding area together.

The ideal volunteer for a placement with us is: active, social, hard-working, responsible, reliable, energetic, a good communicator, interested in exploring the area and learning new things. If you are a couch potato or an internet-addict, this is not the placement for you.
Spending your free time so that YOU get the most out of this experience would include engaging guests and bonding with them over activities that our area has to offer: wine tastings, chocolate factory tours, going to the town markets, etc.

We expect volunteers to have fun while still being able to recognise the importance of the work to be done. We are looking for someone who can complete the given tasks in an efficient, independent, and timely manner, who takes pride in their work, and who is looking to be a part of a team. Volunteers should enjoy the work and have a positive attitude.

The general idea is to help us keep our hostel "No.1 in Perugia," which has been achieved very much so with the help of past and present volunteers. Below is our "business card" and the results that our volunteers must help us to maintain:
