We are looking for two helpers to carry out two quite different activites. We are on 9 acres just north of Whitehorse, where we house our 42 dog sled dog kennel of Alaskan Huskies and run a market garden and small animal farm.

If you are interested in working with working dogs, we can train you. Be sure you are ready to give your all for the dogs.

We will also be running a 35 pig pork production unit, with some turkeys, meat chickens and layers. The exciting new project is the development of a vineyard(first in the Yukon), market gardens, and establishment of fruit bearing shrubs and trees. All feeding into our winery project. So this person would be helping with the agricultural side of the farm.

We have a cabin for our helpers, seperate from the main house. The cabin does not have running water or electicity. There are water jugs which can be filled in our pump house. A lovely, large outhouse goes with the cabin. A propane stove is there for your cooking. You will have access to the house for showers and wifi. Also, a vehicle will be available to get out and about (must provide International Drivers Licence).

We will also be putting up a wall tent for the summer if we need it for an extra helper with a bed and its own outhouse.
There is potential for a room in the house if the wall tent is not up yet.

Couples who can work independently are welcome or two individuals.

We offer a 5 day a week work week with evenings free and days off negotiable.

Yukon offers many memorable experiences From the worlds smallest desert to snow capped mountains, with trails every where to explore. A weekend in historic Dawson City is a must too.

About us: Jonathan works for the Yukon Government in Agriculture. He is full time so to have an extra set of hands on the farm would be greatly appreciated. Jonathan also LOVES to play board games and card games. So be prepared for some competition. Jonathan has been in Yukon for approximately 15 years.

Debbie is a retired teacher and will also be working from time to time as a substitute teacher.

Please contact us, through helpx, for any further information you may need. If you contact us through any other method we are unable to respond.
We look forward to hearing from you.

Also please note we are definitely a non-smoking stay and we welcome vegetarians, vegans and omnivores. :)

We use to be based in Nova Scotia which is why some of our reviews refer to this. We moved back to Yukon after 2 years out east.
