WE ARE LOOKING FOR HOME-SITTERS for 2 to 3 weeks weeks from about July 15 to August 8 2020. Dates are somewhat flexible. You will spend few days with us to get to know our animals and how to run our off-the-grid house, after that, we will leave for a trip and you will be on your own until we come back.
We are looking for a couple or 2 friends and preferably you have your own transportation.
You have to love animals and nature and be comfortable in a remote location with the closest neighbors 15km away. Experience with animals and a rural lifestyle is preferable. The place is beautiful and the right candidates will enjoy their stay here! Our preference will go to mature candidates with previous work experience and we ask for references.
We homestead in a beautiful and remote part of Central Yukon. We are located 15km outside the small Town of Faro and have no closer neighbors.

We have 2 saddle horses ( Norwegian Fjords), 3 Pack Llamas, and 6 dogs and a few laying hens. All our animals other than the birds are free and not fenced in.

Our property if off the grid and we produce our electricity with a solar system, a wind generator and a back up generator in the winter. We heat with wood and have an outhouse. Our water comes from a well under the house and we have running water, a shower,TV,cell service via a signal booster and lots of books.

Yasmine is mostly a vegetarian and Doug eats some meat. We can accommodate vegetarians, vegans and meat eaters alike. We buy organic food as much as possible and produce a large part of our own food.

The guests accommodation is in a Guest Cabin near the main house in the summer and sometimes in a guest room in the house in the winter or when we are gone. The cabin is simple but nicely set up with a comfy beds with duvets.

What we are looking for: clean, mature, responsible people that are willing to look after our farm at times when we are gone. Please note that we have zero tolerance for drug use (even Cannabis) and alcohol abuse.

What we offer: an amazing experience in a true wilderness setting. Lots of time for our volunteers to enjoy the beautiful wilderness and 20km of cross country trails in the winter.
