The “farm” is located in the coastal mountain range about 10 miles from the town of Brookings, Oregon. Beautiful ocean views, wonderful climate, this is a true banana belt. Year round gardening is possible here. We are looking for the right person to help with Swiss Saanen milking goats and farming, construction skills a big plus and mechanical skills are appreciated also. There are small hoop greenhouse shelters that need to be amended for the spring planting and barns that need tending and we are planning on building a new barn.
We provide all meals. We have goat milk (except for 2 months in Jan and Feb), cheese, meat, eggs farm fresh produce and I am a great cook, or so I am told. We grow most of our own meats, poultry eggs, and dairy, and buy as little at the grocery as we can. We do not skimp on food, there is plenty of very high quality food for the help.
There are rivers for fishing and swimming, the ocean is just a few miles away for fishing and kayaking, and beach combing, there are loads of hiking trails and outdoor adventure as we are just a few miles from the Redwoods. We have a RV for sleeping accommodations. Pets are OK as long as they don’t chase cats or fight with other dogs. This is a non tobacco smoking place. No children. You need your own transportation and 4 wheel drive is a MUST in winter, there are no exceptions to this rule as the road demands a high centered auto due to the extensive amount of rain we get in winter and it takes time to fix the ruts in between the storms. We are early risers here on the farm and work begins at 7 and goes to lunch, we work a full 5 hour day and mornings go by fast, help have the rest of the day off to play or do what ever they want.
We do require a release of all liability so you must have your own insurance. Please do not respond if your not willing to sign a release of liability.
