We have room for one helper at a time for the winter months.

We are a small warmblood horse breeding operation located in north central Alberta. We are one hour west of West Edmonton Mall and Edmonton, and 3 hours to Jasper national park. We are non smoking, occasional social drinking. We have two extremely spoiled, small house dogs. And one very large one. We grow our own hay and grain.. We own approx. 14 horses.. some we drive, others we ride, others are broodmares.. Our daughter does equine sports therapy, if this interests you, you may be able to help her. Also she is a student of legerete, if you want to dabble in that she would love a keen helper.

Depending on your horse experience, we cannot guarantee that you will be able to ride horses. Lots of times we only have young ones that are just being trained. but you will get alot of horse time..

Extra tasks could be lawn maintenance, tack cleaning, possibly helping harvest, handling horses, depending on experience this could be riding or driving or just helping with mares and foals and helping prepare them for inspections. We are in a small town, approx. 900 people. We also have a small plumbing and heating business. We have pretty slow internet, our property is across the road from the Pembina river provincial park..so close to rivers and nature. Ideally this would be a one - one month stay or longer so you can experience family and life with with us. We do also accept two weeks stays, if you are just passing through, but hard to experience the family and community with that.

We

Daily, No matter the weather
*Cleaning: Stalls. (Maximum of 7 stalls, usually 3-4).
*Cleaning "POOP" up in outside paddocks daily**
*Feeding hay rations and making up grain ration Twice daily.
*Checking and Cleaning Water Buckets/Pasture Tanks
*Grooming horses
*Checking on the pasture horses.
*Checking Rain Sheets/Fly Sheet/Winter Blankets for loose Straps.

In the spring summer fall we can take up to three helpers sleeping in large camper, in the winter you stay in the house, so a couple or single, as I have only one extra bedroom. Thank you.

We ask that you have a valid drivers license if you are coming here... we are pretty rural

Special diets are unfortunately unavailable..
