Our family owns and operates a small high-density certified organic apple orchard, focusing on heritage and connoisseur apple varieties. We also run a small cidery on the property, bake and sell apple treats at market, host orchard tours and provide on-site apple and tree sales in season.

To date, farm volunteers (WWOOFers) have been a big part of our orchard development, as we need help with many orchard tasks on a year-round basis.

Brian and Peri both also do other work to make the whole effort feasible. Peri is a teacher; Brian is a writer and consultant.

All volunteers sleep in our spacious (20 by 16 foot) wall tent, which sits on a wood floor and is set up much like an apartment, with beds and furniture, plus a cozy wood stove. There is an outhouse right beside the tent and volunteers have use of dedicated bathroom and shower facilities nearby. Full access to kitchen facilities in our house, is just a short walk away.

Our dynamic household -- and our popularity with volunteers -- means you`re likely to meet people from all over the world when you spend time here. We have had volunteers from 12 different countries over the past year. One night not so long ago, we counted six different first languages at our dinner table. This makes for some great conversation.

Our orchard sits on sloping land, surrounded by farms and forest and overlooking the Pacific Ocean, the Gulf Islands and Mt. Baker. It`s quite spectacular.

We are close to town and a number of opportunities for hiking, biking, and touring. Local transit stops right at our farm, making access straight-forward. And because we allow for some flexibility of working hours, it is possible to manage your time to take advantage of all the island has to offer.

Please come, help us out and explore this magnificent island for yourself!
