I live in a large regional city one hour by train from Melbourne in a comfortable three-bedroom home with a medium-sized garden. I prefer a young man willing to work in my garden, maybe a little house cleaning. If he has some experience in painting the exterior wood parts of a brick home that could be an advantage, and also knowing a weed from a plant (!). I offer a private room, internet access, meals (French and Italian cuisine) in exchange for four hours work per day, mainly light work, five days a week.I usually find that young helpers don't have much gardening experience and I am happy to show them what they need to do. The time that they do the required 4 hours of work on week-days can be flexible but helpers must be happy and willing to do a full 4 hours per day because I really hate it if I find that I have to keep urging them to continue their work; in such a case the exchange is not worth my trouble. I really prefer someone from France or Italy. I speak those languages fluently and really welcome the opportunity of the occasional conversation. I am always ready to help people improve their knowledge of English.
In Ballarat there is a large aquatic centre for swimming, a movie theatre with multiple screenings daily, tennis courts, discos, cafes and wine bars, hotels and a train service every hour to Melbourne.
We are connected by train to one of Victoria's most popular place for mountain hiking - The Grampians. We are an hour by bus from the seaside city of Geelong. There are many walking tracks around the outskirts of Ballarat which lead through bushland and beside creeks and the lake and the botanical gardens are very popular tourist attractions, as well as Sovereign Hill which is an active replica gold-mining village set in the 1850's.

Je préfère un français ou un italien. Preferisco un italiano o un francese.

I live one minute from a bus stop which takes you to the centre of town and the railway station in about ten minutes.
I often get requests from 2 people who are travelling together. I cannot take more than 1 person. Please take note of this.
