Volunteer Farm Work
We are looking for a person or two to help out on our farm property just over an hour north of Melbourne. Our farm is around 400 acres of the most beautiful countryside consisting of river flats, lagoons and hills. With the Goulburn River running alongside the farm your time off could be spent fishing and exploring. We are near the rail trail and tourist towns with markets and local activities and not far from the snow fields. We have lots of native animals and birds wild around the farm, kangaroos, koalas, echidnas, wombats, ducks and wedge tailed eagles just to name a few. We have cattle, sheep, alpacas, chickens, horses and working dogs on the farm and the work revolves around their care and care for the land. Bonnie Brae is the most beautiful property and a real Australian working farm and farmstay.
We love the land and we love to farm. We believe in treating the animals and people with dignity and respect and expect our visitors to do the same. We are interested in people that like to work hard, are self motivated, have a real interest in farming, like animals and enjoy working in a team. You don’t have to be highly skilled but definitely be keen to learn and have a go. No heavy drinkers, smokers or drug users, just fair dinkum people looking to join in. We are interested in working with volunteers that want to socialise, share time with our family and friends and have a real aussie farm experience.
The jobs that our volunteers do range from gardening jobs such as weeding, pruning, mowing, fire wood collection, fencing, mustering, assisting with shearing and other farm activities, working in the vegetable gardens, some housework and property maintenance. Coming into lambing and calving season we'd love to get some helpers who would enjoy this special time of year. Then there's also fishing, bush walking, photography, local markets and relaxing. Volunteers with special skills might come up with some new jobs themselves.

If you have a van you can park your van on our property and live here for the duration or we do have a caravan available for use. We will provide most meals shared with us in the main house and the bathroom and toilet is in also in the main house. The position is voluntary (unpaid).
