We are a cage-free pet resort very near to Huntsville in the heart of Muskoka, just 45 minutes drive from world renown Algonquin Provincial Park where you might want to hike trails, check their visitor centre, wolf howls, and maybe camping or a canoe trip.

Muskoka is Canada's Cottage capitol with over a 1,000 pristine lakes. Our property has lots of ponds and is located in the spring-fed kettle lakes hills that supply fresh water to Lake of Bays. Just steps away are 4 small lakes with blue heron rookeries, where moose, whitetail deer and other wildlife come for a drink. Those who love watching wildlife in their natural habitat will love our beautiful woodlands and lakes.

There are lots of hiking trails you can simply walk out and enjoy. We have bikes, and its just 6 kilometres from Huntsville where you can find interesting shops, dockside restaurants and cafes, festivals, etc. Be sure to check out Algonquin Outfitters where you can rent canoes, kayaks and water boards from the downtown dock, then slip into a craft beer pub restaurant located across the street, and returned home late in a taxi thoroughly satisfied.

Algonquin Outfitters can also take canoes, and camping gear to the provincial park for you to do a canoe trip. During the winter there is an amazing ice track you can ice skate for 3km at Arrowhead Park, as well as snow shoe, cross country ski, etc. As well their is great downhill skiing at Hidden Valley, and enjoyed a sauna afterward and a fireside drink. There are also nearby riding stables and boating trips.

We also home to a dozen Siberian Huskies we rescued and built them a huge Sanctuary where they can run, play and swim too. You may want to help us with new summer projects for our huskies.

You can enjoy exploring other nearby towns and villages such as Bracebridge, Baysville, Port Sydney, Dorset, Rosseau, etc or be refreshed spending time at our many beaches or waterfalls park areas. There are a number of craft beer distilleries in the area and so many interesting tourist destination places to explore. Our area also has lots of tourist activities and seasonal festivals.

Food is excellent, we do a lot of vegetarian dishes. We have a lot of the extras that vegans are delighted to find in our larders. We are open to new culinary talents, so if you want to make a speciality meal some time, that's wonderful. At this time of the year we start to eat outdoors in a gazebo overlooking a patio with a greenhouse and lots of perennial garden. Please let us know about any specific dietary needs before you arrive.

We've a list of projects you can chose from if you wish to put your mark on our pet resort. Right now, I need some strong ambitious people who can help in our spring and pre-summer outdoor work.

There is also a wish list of potential projects you can maybe feel inspired to choose. We can sit down in the gazebo and see what one appeals to you. Those who have chosen special projects have had an opportunity to do something to remember and always be remembered for creating. I can show you what the Spanish couple has built, what the German cousins did, etc. They give great pleasure in my memory bank for which I am forever grateful.

Be sure to check out our website and facebook. We have lots of photographs and it's a great way to learn some of the dogs' names that you will get to know during your stay. NEW- we have just opened a new cat resort just 5 minutes from Happy Tails called Cats on Cann Lake. If you like cats let us know.
