Well Hello Travellers

We are a busy WORKING couple with a great social life. Our adult children 23-31 are sometimes home and 2 grandchildren. We need help as we have long-term injuries after car accidents.

Family Home in Monbulk with 6 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms in the middle of the beautiful Dandenong`s on a hobby farm just over 2 hectares which is an outer suburb of Melbourne. We also have a bungalow that sleeps 5 that is sometimes available. We do have Wi-Fi swimming pool. Billiard Table and a beautiful garden. 2 dogs & 15 chickens

Walking distance to the village where there are local buses and cafes, 1 hour DRIVING from CBD and we live close to national parks and famous tourist attractions.

Enthusiastic, trustworthy English speaking helpers who are preferably non –smoking and enjoy a laugh, practical and can work INDEPENDENTLY. Capable of putting in a full days work.

We work outside most of the time with insects, noises, smells & animals. You will get dirty, muddy, it may be hot, cold or raining. Please bring clothing and footwear suitable for a farm. Climate 0 to 40 degrees (All seasons in one day)

House cleaning, farm work, gardening, painting, outside work is sometimes hard. Some work requires physical strength and the use of power tools. Cooking sewing and craft we can accommodate.

5-6 hours a day for each night of stay 5 days a week or (4-5 without evening meal). When 25 hours completed 2 days off or if you do the hours in 4 days 3 days off. We also like you to participate in normal family household chores. We are offering one week stays (with option of extending for the right helpers). Helpers must have their own travel insurance and working holiday visa

All meals are provided, self-serve breakfast and lunch. We eat wholesome and healthy food which you are welcome to share but if you have special dietary requirements you are welcome to buy and cater for yourself. Your laundry is your responsibility

Manytravellers have stayed over a year and 5 have been back 3 times

Please tell us a bit about yourself, as it matters to us who you are, include your skills/experience (what have you worked at/studied so far in life), indicate how you`d be able to help out. If WE accept you a copy of your passport and travel insurance to be supplied on arrival. We ask the day you leave is before 11 am.

Local farms offer employment (2nd year visa ) for the right helpx then your room is available for rent

Apply for Tax file number as soon as you arrive

At the airport buy a Telstra SIM card, Telstra has the best network coverage around Australia and it is the only SIM card that works in Dandenongs. The Telstra store at Melbourne Airport is located at shop 1.15 at the Qantas Domestic Airport Departure Level 1 First Floor, make sure the Telstra salesperson helps you to get e SIM card connected and working on the Telstra network and your mobile phone.

BANKING: Commonwealth Bank Australian wide

Best to buy cars registered in Victoria or NSW as need a road worthy to sell so gives buyer some protection. (DON'T buy off another backpacker unless car been regularly serviced with receipts)

* OPTION 1: Drive

*Option 2: From Melbourne/Tullamarine Airport take the Skybus cost $18.00 to Southern Cross (Spencer Street) Station and buy a Myki card to travel on Melbourne’s public transport.

*The MYKI card costs $6.00 to purchase and the local train and bus fares cost $4.30 for 2 hours travel. (Approximately total travel costs: $28.30).

*From Southern Cross Station take the train to Belgrave Station, at Belgrave take the number 663 bus to Lilydale and make sure you get off at Main Road Monbulk opposite Woolworths and Aldi and wait for me to pick you up at the bus stop. (Make sure you ask the bus driver to let you off at Main Road Monbulk).

*Option 3: A much cheaper alternative but longer travel time (Approximately total travel costs: $10.30) is to take the 901 Bus from the airport to Ringwood Station and then take train to Belgrave Station followed by the 663 bus to Monbulk and make sure you get off at Main Road Monbulk opposite Woolworths and Aldi and I will pick you up from the bus stop. (Make sure you ask the bus driver to let you off at Main Road Monbulk opposite Woolworths). Route 901 is a Myki ticketed service. Myki card costs $6.00 plus travel costs from Airport to Lilydale and Monbulk is $4.30.

Enjoy Aussieland
