**Thanks to all who have written us! :) Due to overwhelming interest, we are full for July and August, and cannot host new volunteers for these months.**
This an ever-evolving playground and place to experiment with conscious, sustainable living, with a myriad of ever-changing practical and fun projects, and an ever-changing community of volunteers from all over the world. At the moment we have a core group consisting of Andrea from Argentina/Denmark, Puk from Denmark, Shiva from India, and Isak from Denmark, and the amount of volunteers vary quite a bit. We really appreciate engaged, dedicated people, and would love to extend an invitation for someone to join us on a longer term basis.
We treat each other with respect and support, and appreciate all inputs, insights, ideas, and contributions. Our playground is an old farm on 4 hectares of land with a lovely forest, chickens, bees, worm farms, 2 cats, a variety of wildlife, a Tiny House, a Hobbit House, a cabin, a glass house, a polytunnel, and a beautifully renovated main house where we host Bed and Breakfast guests.
We strive toward self-sufficient, organic, joyful living, making lots of our own products like kefir, kombucha, apple cider vinegar, ash soap, eco enzyme, creams and more. We work with permaculture, and are establishing fruit tree and willow orchards, and maybe a big greenhouse. We love to laugh and have fun and be spontaneous. We love music and all creative impulses. We regularly have circles (from the Findhorn model) to welcome new members/send off those who leave, and to just connect.
We are mostly vegetarians, enjoying very diverse and nutritious meals. We like to go Treasure Hunting (other people call it dumpster diving), and make a big effort to reduce, reuse, and recycle. We are also interested in a wide variety of healing practices, and try to incorporate physical exercise into our daily routine. Finally we share our abundance and treasures in a second hand shop in the nearest city of Odder.
Since this is a big place with lots of projects, it is best if volunteers can spend a minimum of one month with us. Feel free to have a look around our website as well, for more information.
We look forward to hearing from you! :)
These are some of the projects we are currently working on:
We have a tiny house/biopod project, which is going to be a living space with rainwater collection, microgreens, and worm farms.
We have a field with swales where we have just planted a lot of garlic with companion plants, and another field that needs to be cleared and prepared for spring.
We have worm farms and chickens and microgreens that need to be tended to, and we also run an AirBnB, so we need to keep the apartments clean and ready.
We continually make kefir, kombucha, garbage enzyme, ash soap, and “bee wraps” and creams from our bees wax
We would like to build an additional space outside the volunteer room, for putting boots and coats
We are also continually trying to organize and beautify everything, everywhere! :) Making sure the kitchen and stock room function well, making a seed room, a planting area, organizing all our containers...
We would like to build an outdoor kitchen, possibly combined with a greywater system.
We are compiling a beautiful book with all the things we do here, and would like to put it in a digital format as well
if you know about setting up facebook pages, that would be most welcome! Also getting, and keeping, our social media up to date would be great.
We need to figure out what to do with our big courtyard – maybe a big greenhouse? A natural swimming pool?
And when we’re not too busy, we dream of making living houses, a rocket-fired hot tub, a floating glass house for the lake, and maybe a tree house :)
