Lucie and I are both working as teachers, part-time. We are open-minded tolerant people, meat may or may not be in the fridge, no smoking in the house. WiFi/WLAN.
Our old farmhouse has view over the rhine valley to the black forest, located in a little village close to the hills of the vosges.
We can use help in and around the house, just as well as in the garden and orchard. Since we have several remodeling projects, mechanical, remodeling or building skills are welcome, but not required. You can learn by helping me. And it already helps a lot, if someone takes care of the cooking. The last helper made us happy with his piano passion. Any art project, murals, installations, I am open for ideas.
In fall we harvest walnuts and use them for bakery. Fall is also the time to find porcini in the nearby forests. We dry them, just as the apples and pears from the orchard. In winter we cut trees and make firewood. In the summer we harvest berries for jam, plumes and mirabelles are put in barrels and destilled to schnaps in February.
We have a guestroom with separate bathroom and two separate beds. There are bicycles to your disposal. Lucie and I speak German with each other. Our kids speak French when they are here, in the village you hear French just as much as the local dialect. Lucie teaches Spanish.
The main house is shared with Almita, our little tiger cat.

Next train station is Soultz-sous-forets, about 5 km. We can arrange to pick you up in Karlsruhe and Baden-Baden as well, depending on our schedules.

November and Dezember 2019:
Days get shorter, little remains to do outside. We will mount the village Advent calendar, 24 window sized wooden paintings with shutters, and I need to fix and repair the LED lights. There are piles of walnuts to crack and prepare for the oil mill, that is a task easily done next to the woodstove. If the weather is fine, we could cut down some trees along the mill riverside and split it for firewood.
