We are located in the beautiful upcountry area of Maui with a gorgeous ocean view and an incredible sunset each night. Our nearest town, Ulupalakua, is just two miles away and is host to the historic Ulupalakua Ranch Store and Maui’s only winery.

We are a homestead, start-up apiary, gift shop, and roadside stand. We are virtually new and I think you will find a variety off things you can do to help us out.

The farm is host to the Maui Honey Bee Sanctuary. We are building an observation beehive and also enjoy being an advocate for bees and beekeeping while educating the public about honeybees. We plan to expand our own apiary and harvest our own honey later this year.

Our property is an off-the-grid camp style setup with outdoor camp kitchen. If you are intending to come in the near future, you may have to provide your own tent in order for us to accommodate you. We have space in the camp area to accommodate more people however our current number of provided tents are currently being used. Please let us know if you already have your own tent otherwise I can check to see during what dates we may be able to provide one.

We are on the dry side of the island which means mostly beautiful weather with little rain and minimal mosquitoes. We are at approximately 2,000 feet elevation on Haleakala and therefore we have slightly cooler temperatures during the day and can drop down a bit at night. It can be windy at times when the trades are blowing.
We require a 3 week minimum stay and expect 25 volunteer hours per week (5 hours a day / 5 days a week or equivalent).

We ask that you be prepared to buy some of your own food during your time here. We provide non-perishable dry food staples (oatmeal and pancake mix for breakfast, and rice, quinoa, pasta, lentils, beans for other meals, we also have cooking oil, and some spices and condiments). We try to provide some additional food as our budget permits but we recommend you have a reserve of funds for some additional food as you will probably enjoy eating more variety than the food staples we provide. You can come with us once a week to the local farmer's market for the best prices on locally grown fruits and vegetables.

You can do any or all of these tasks based on your personal preference and abilities:
Herb & Flower Garden - beautification of land for visitor experience, additional forage sources for bees
Gift Shop - vending of products and other goods from our local community
Road stand - serving food and shave ice to locals and tourists
Making Products - make products that we sell such as lotion bars, candles, lip balms, jewelry, and any other crafts that we can think of to contribute to our road stand
Construction - create structures mostly out of re-purposed shipping pallets, building beehives
Painting - sign making, artistic painting of beautification of roadstand and property
Online Presence - Manage social media, website, create online shopping cart
Food Gardens - creating vegetable beds, weeding, planting, harvesting
Beekeeping - caring for honeybees, harvesting honey
