Come and volunteer at our permaculture community!

We are a workers Co-op of 2 families, both with home educated children. Our community is made up of local volunteers, passing friends and other volunteers. We live on a beautiful small holding, 2 miles from Durham city and with good public transport routes. We are practising permaculture, growing organic vegetables and salads for our customer's. We have a flock of hens and sheep, 3 bee hives, woodland, river, fruit bushes, willow coppice for basketry. We run various courses in permaculture, Nonviolent communication, wood carving and basketry.

We need help in our commercial vegetable garden, helping to feed the hens and possibly some eco building

You would be able to stay in our little eco structure or camp and often be able socialise with other volunteers. We will give you healthy organic ingredients to cook your own food and we will sometimes eat together too. We can cater for vegans, vegetarians, meat eaters and gluten free.

We live a very low impact lifestyle and we are off grid. We have a compost toilets and There is no bathroom on site so washing is done in a bowl, using a camping shower in the woods , dipping in the river, going to the sports centre in town to use their showers!

This post would suit someone who would like to be apart of an alternative community for a while, enjoy seeing permaculture in action and being outside with nature.
We would like you to help monday -friday 10 am - 4pm

Our interests include: permaculture yoga, meditation, crafts, dancing , practising Non Violent Communication, transition towns, local food, compassionate living, sunbathing!!
