We are an Australian family living in Provence, in the department of Vaucluse close to Avignon, Chateaunueuf du Pape, Nimes and Uzes, our property is in a beautiful forest setting overlooking a natural spring river with waterfalls in the middle of a forest. In the heart of the Cote Du Rhone, with cycling, vineyards and activities galore. Our nearest town is Orange which is renowned for its Roman Theatre which is described as the “most impressive still existing in Europe”. Our area is renowned for its wines and local produce.

We need help all year, from June 2017 and possibly through December to help restore our 17th Century Mill House and aqueduct back to its former glory. The Mill House sits in a very tranquil valley in 20 acres of land, all of which is woodland, with a beautiful meadow.

Our French is very basic but we both love chatting in French. Preferably, we are looking for people who enjoy and will assist building, gardening, painting, repointing stone walls, clearing land or some basic cleaning 20-25 hours per week and weekends free to explore. We welcome couples and/or friends for 2/3 weeks or longer if you prefer.

We are a fun loving busy family: Richard, Sharon, Mike, Georgie, Alastair, Elliot (14), Oliver (6) and we have a dog called Clementine and ocasionally visitors. We would very happily host several, preferably with a little English speaking helpers would stay in our house which is suitable to a single person, but also a couple or two or more friends wanting to experience Provence.

In return you will receive 3 meals per day, wine of course and relaxed atmosphere, have access, to your own TV, Wifi, Bikes, table tennis, swimming and lifts into Orange when required. There are lots of concerts, Opera, great restaurants and bars within easy access.
