We are two retired university people who now work harder than ever on our farm. We love it and do most of the work ourselves but can use seasonal help. We grow blueberries organically for the fresh market, have recently planted heritage cider apples to make traditional cider, and Italian plums to make prunes. Tasks will include having fun at all we do, mowing between blueberry rows, weeding, mowing apple and plum orchards, some pruning, training apple trees to trellis, checking irrigation system, spreading bark mulch, and other tasks that arise. Use of light machinery such as weed eaters is expected. No machinery will be used without training. Swearing at machinery is understood.
We live a few miles from the farm, with two spare double bedrooms. No smoking indoors AT ALL. We will expect ~25 hours of work per week, no more! Weekends are off. We have a large friendly dog, Diego. He will lick or hug you to make you happy. No other pets, please.

At our home we also have a large organic yard/garden which needs tending. Helpers will be able to live and eat as part of the family and/or choose to use their own kitchen. If you want part of your work to be cooking for us all, that would be uber cool. We frequently eat vegetarian, but not vegan/GF. Nearest large grocery store is an easy walk. We go regularly to the Cascade mountains (two-hour drive) to hike and bike, and would be glad to take helpers with us. Likewise the Oregon coast is just an hour's drive away. Corvallis is a very desirable college town, home to Oregon State University, Go Beavers! Portland (weekends?) is known as a mecca for young people.
Corvallis can be reached by Greyhound bus (cheapest), train to nearby Albany (~12 miles), or plane to either Eugene (45 miles) or Portland (90 miles). It will not always suit our schedules to meet you at the airport, but shuttles are available to Corvallis.
