WE REQUIRE AN ONLINE APPLICATION BE SUBMITTED, FOR SAFETY CONCERNS FOR ALL INTERNS AND OUR FAMILY.

UPDATE: Deck is finally finished (except for railings)& Hot Tub in. Next build project is new pen for chickens, and remodeling inside of house to do. We’d like to clear up space for a tv area downstairs by the wood stove and create a space for another private intern room.

We sell at our local farmers markets on Saturdays, May to October. Online Market is open Year Round. Friday’s are baking day here on the farm. I make sourdough bread, and gluten free crackers that I sell at the farmers market. Tuesdays, the Ole Farmhouse and ceramics studio are open from 10-4.

Farm work always has something to be done and we love having interns who are interested in a cultural exchange, teaching us about their way of life and learning our way.
* Garden needs to be planted.
* Goats need hooves trimmed.
*Underground canning house to be done
*More pallet gardens to get made, raised beds, etc.
*We could always use help to keep the many projects going on in order!

If you are interested in learning about farming, goats, woodworking, canning, etc. this is the place to do it.

More Interns, More Fun! We have room for 3 or 4 interns now.

We like to sightsee on Sundays. Great Smokey Mountains, Cades Cove, Grandfather Mountain just to name a few. We enjoy our interns and love to show them around our area as well.

WE ARE A YEAR ROUND HOST.

Food grown on the farm provided, Meal preparation is shared, with food from the farm provided. If you eat junk food, or want special foods, you must provide them for yourself. You may also cook for yourself, cleaning up after yourself is a requirement. No special diets considered, we have meat, fruits, vegetables, bread and eggs.

No children or pets. No personal cell phone use while working as there are things that can be dangerous if you are distracted! No Smoking at any time.

We REQUIRE an application to be filled out, you will find it online at our website. Application must be received and approved before we will accept you on our farm. Again, this is for safety purposes.

Identification requirements: We require a phone conversation prior to acceptance of your visit. We can video talk on Skype. If we accept you as a single person, do not show up with anyone in tow, or any pets. If we accept your visit as a pair, do not show up with additional persons, or pets.

First week is a trial period, if we get along well then we hope you stay for a while! If you violate our rules, we can terminate you.

We can pick you up at the bus stop (Mosheim), if you arrive that way...or the airport (tri-cities)(Asheville) or (Knoxville), if you will be arriving by plane. Other Transportation is on your own. A minimum of 1 month stay is desirable however we will consider a 2 week stay. Stipend is room and board only. Work schedule is flexible. Sorry, we cannot host children or pets. English only spoken here, however, if you speak a 2nd language, such as Spanish, that would be most helpful. Sorry we cannot accommodate special diets.

2 Bedrooms with double beds in our main house, 1 Bedroom with twin beds in our studio, and an RV. (Eventually we’d like to have an intern room in the downstairs area by the wood stove). Shared full bath and kitchen available in both locations, with cable TV, and internet in main house. Interns must keep rooms, bathrooms and house clean at all times. Interns are expected to help with kitchen duties, and all housekeeping duties.

We hope to hear from you as there are many things to be done around the farm and lots of fun to be had. Our past interns have enjoyed the scenery, making pottery and painting, playing with baby goats, and our personal favorite, board game of marbles!

Feel free to ask any questions you may have.
