Help run a European style Inn/ tiny guest house with a happy Hostel vibe and live on the California Central coast in Cambria

We are a cozy European-style Inn/tinyguest house with a happy hostel vibe located in the historic East Village of Cambria. We are a homey creative alternative to busy dorm style youth hostels, plain-box motels and expensive B&Bs. Are atmosphere is laid back nonparting let's enjoy nature, food, and be creative.

Cambria is a quintessential California beach town and artist enclave that offers up a variety of meaningful and inspiring activities for the artist, musician, foodie, nature lover, hiker, surfer, and bicycle rider - bicycle friendly community, hiking/jogging trails, live music, restaurants & galleries to sample, and coastlines to explore, there is something for everyone. Because we are in a small town with an older population, if you are looking for excitement, bars, and clubs, this may not be the place for you.

Our place is located one mile from beautiful Moonstone Beach, and only four hours from San Francisco and Los Angeles. We are the perfect midway point along the sprawling Pacific Coast Highway!

Our guests come from around the world so you're sure to meet a plethora of creative, adventurous, and talented people.

A friendly neighborhood Inn, we are looking for energetic, optimistic, happy, outgoing individuals to help us build and sustain a wonderful hosteling experience for our guests and keep our environmental impacts low.

Our living area is small and shared with guests, so you must be neat in your living style and enjoy being with others.

Our place requests 20 to 25 hours a week in exchange for room and a breakfast that consists of organic oats, raisins, sunflower seeds, tea, and coffee. Accommodation may be in a small room with a single bed and suitable for a travel backpack, camping, off the grid (no ELECTRIC no GAS) cabin with a single bed. The winter temperature is cold in the evening/night with shorter daylight hours. If you volunteer in the winter research the temps. I want you to be happy with the accommodations. Volunteers have full access to the hostel when it is not in use by a group. When the hostel is rented there is a separate kitchen in the church/living space/bathroom or tent space or opportunity to explore the central coast. We usually ask volunteers to stay a month to two month.
