We have a 5-year-old with autism. Over the last three years, we have had speech and language therapists, occupational therapists, and ABA therapist stay with us who gave us some goals and strategies and we would just love some more input from health professionals. We are very grateful for everyone that has come and worked with Yahya. It has solidified our belief in the benefits of early intervention as we have seen and continue to see progress. We would love to host anyone with special needs or early intervention experience. We could host you immediately or some other time of course.

We are extra interested in
1. Occupational Therapy –
2. Speech Therapy –
3. ABA Therapy-(Applied Behavior Analysis)
or any other Early Intervention therapy

We would love to have another ABA therapist or anyone who is eager to learn(minimum stay 1 month) to come and work with Yahya as we really love this approach.

We are a multicultural family of 4 with a Moroccan/ Dutch/ Spanish background that we´d love to share with you including our wide range of different cultural foods, languages and lifestyle habits!

We would like to raise our children in a multicultural environment with none of the stress that is imposed on you from the modern world! We love meeting multicultural individuals who are super flexible and can share their cultural backgrounds with us also.

We love living in our small town of only 4200 inhabitants, Ontigola, which is surrounded by scenic views. Additionally, a supermarket and 2 bars & cafes are conveniently within a 5-minute walking distance. Plus, if you want to visit historical towns then Aranjuez (4 km) & Toledo (40 km) are nearby and both listed by UNESCO as World Heritage Sites.

Aranjuez also offers direct connections via train to the center of Madrid (50min) & Valencia (3 hours) and many more places.

We are currently learning about permaculture as we aim to move to our own ASD care farm within the next year, with a permaculture vegetable and fruit garden. If you can help deepen our knowledge then please contact us and for more information, you can also check out our additional work away page by sending me a message. Please contact us if you are interested in learning more about this project.

We want to open our house to share it with like-minded people, helping us all to grow and learn. Our typical days include working hard in the garden and light housework, relaxing with some food and a drink whilst exchanging ideas! Of course, watching the sunset from our rooftop terrace which offers a phenomenal view of the sun setting over the hills, and maybe even making a fire when it gets cold!

We are interested in sustainability, healthy food, healthy mind, art and different ways of living

We like some help indoors and outdoors in our lovely small but comfortable house. All skills and abilities appreciated.

VOLUNTEER IN LARACHE, MOROCCO!! End of July - Start of September 2020

Hello, my name is Hanan, I am Dutch with Moroccan roots living in Spain and I am married to Mohamad, who is Spanish and also has Moroccan background, and we have a young son called Yahya who is on the Autism Spectrum. Meeting therapists for my son inspired me to start a training program for parents of children with autism in Morocco. Our first two Autism early intervention parent training programs were a success, and we hope that next year will be even bigger and better!

Our website will soon be online, you can find us at, meanwhile you can visit our English and Spanish facebook pages(see links above).

The program will be held in Larache, Morocco from Start of June until Mid/late July to start of September 2020. Volunteering hours will be Monday to Thursday from 10.00 to 17.00, Friday from 10.00 to 12.00, Saturday and Sunday are free

2. Qualified professionals who are able to administer diagnoses (autism, etc.)
3. Speech and language therapists
3. Occupational therapists
4. ABA therapists or background in ABA (min 3 years)
5. Play therapists capable of teaching adults how to interact with their child during play
6. Volunteers with a psychology degree to help assist the therapists
7. A cook
8. Translators (Moroccan Arabic to English)
9. Individuals with Teachh background
10. Social media/marketing manager

If you think you can add any further skills to this program, please do not hesitate to get in contact!

Why volunteer with us?

Studies have shown that early intervention therapy for young children with autism is the most effective long term strategy to improve language ability, social interaction, and quality of life. Unfortunately, therapy can be very expensive in countries like Morocco and is only for one hour in a whole week. If parents don’t have the knowledge to reinforce what is learned in therapy at home, this precious time is lost. Our aim is to bridge this gap between therapists and families so that parents can have the tools to support and teach their young children with autism every day.

We are in our third year of our Early Intervention Parent Training Program for parents that have a young child with autism in Larache, Morocco. Here, global health professionals provide intensive therapy for the children while training parents in early intervention methods. We hope to create an educational network wherein families of young children with autism or other developmental disabilities can learn, then in turn educate and support others. The program comes free to all qualifying families and is entirely run on donations of time and money.

As a volunteer, you will be able to meet people from all around the world, visit the beach, learn more about Moroccan culture and cuisine, and make a difference in a family’s life. Thank you!
