The Hostel is located in the original neighborhood of Eugene and is nestled up next to the current "downtown" area. We've been operating in the Whiteaker neighborhood for several years now, and have observed the current brewery district grow and flourish.

My name is "Mac" and I have had the opportunity to create the current environment and develop what I hope to be a kind and inviting atmosphere. We have a few gardens and numerous projects but the large amount of work revolves around the guests: Check In, Check Out, Cleaning, and various service work.

As a volunteer you will get the opportunity to explore the Oregon Northwest. Eugene has an interesting activist history and we are less then one hour from the pacific coast to the west and great mountain hikes to the east, as well as hot springs and great music venues.

The duties include reception, gardening, housekeeping and special projects. As a hostel, we always appreciate experience in hospitality, travel, and language. Honesty, integrity, and inquisitive personalities are welcomed. We ask for a maximum of 4-5 hours of work per day, five days per week in exchange for accommodations and a self serve breakfast each morning.

Accommodations vary from a two bed to a five bed dorm, yurt, and/or camping depending upon availability and season. Adventurous personalities encouraged.

Eugene is very bike friendly and nearly everything interesting can be reached by bike, bus, or bipedal means... The Willamette River is super close and has a wonderful trail system. I like to keep things pretty simple here, and prefer to keep the use of fossil fuels to a minimum. We also make all our daily cleaning products and laundry soap. I'm always open to improvement, so if you like living low impact... bring it!
