UPDATE: Looking for a housekeeper for the season or anytime between April 1st thru Sept 30th for a small 800 sq ft rental, a cottage, and our home. Room & Board with a stipend. Plenty of folks in area will pay for your services in your off hours.
I am a small plant nursery located on the historic boardwalk of beautiful Seldovia, Alaska off the Kenai Peninsula. We are a remote village accessable only by boat or air. I raise the majority of my plants from seed and use no chemical pesticides or herbicides. I also manage several public gardens in town and my own garden in which I grow many vegetables. I am looking for volunteers March-October for any length of stay. Help with greenhouse growing, processing new merchandise for the shop, gardening, weeding, watering, planting, cooking, and running the shop would all be appreciated. As I have a small cottage and suite for rent, I also need help with household tasks such as cleaning and ironing. I am especially in need of help March 1st through June. If you like to ski, March is great! Six hours of work is expected per day with Sundays off. You would learn about a wide variety of plants, and I can teach you some gourmet cooking techniques. In your free-time you can enjoy kayaking, hiking, beaches, fishing for halibut and salmon, and mountain biking – all within walking distance. You may have your own room and bathroom depending on other helpers. Camping is also available if you prefer. This is one of the most beautiful places you will ever visit. Our community hosts lots of fun activities, we have an active arts community, many classes, and outdoor opportunities. Check us out at www.Seldovia.com
