Hello Travellers, welcome to Spirit Gate Farm profile.

Farm Description: We have 60 acres of beautiful rolling hills, stream and forest, set in a picturesque valley surrounded by fantastic hiking mountains. We facilitate experiential learning programs with horses, coach riding and teach Operant Behaviour training. We also have an organic garden feeding our family and guests throughout the year.
We've been hosting guests for the past two years with excellent review and have developed some wonderful friendships with people returning to the farm.

Work description: caring for helping out with the horses and other animals (chickens, ducks, pet pig) Assisting in grooming and tacking up horses. Spring and Summer gardening and general upkeep of the property. We usually have a wood working or building project to help out with. So willing to help with manual labour.Work hours approx 28.

Ideal helpers: You have experience handling horses (not just riding lessons) and you can work independently with self motivation and enthusiasm to learn. You are at least 21 years old and speak english fairly fluently. We can gladly accommodate 2 girls or a couple and prefer a stay of one month if the fit is mutually good.

Accommodation info: We have a large open studio with a wood stove and kitchenette with running water just outside the building and a shared private bathroom in the main house. The kitchen is stocked with food for you to prepare your own breakfast and lunch and dinner is shared together. We have Wifi, but NO cellphones are to be used during working times. We are on a septic system so mindful usage is necessary. We also have newly built outdoor showers and a compost toilet for use during summer.

Host Information: Michelle is the owner/operator of the farm and have been working with horses for 25 years. Michelle is certified in permaculture design and is continually developing the farm. We have 2 Bernese Mountain dogs. Please view our website
