This place is comprised of 100 acres (40.5 ha) of natural wilderness resources we are developing into an all-natural retreat and organic food source.

Construction has started, (although winter has things on hold at the moment), and in the spring we are moving forward with continuing construction of several small cabins and outbuildings under way. We have acquired a 6.5 kilowatt solar array and racking that will be installed for a complete off-grid setup.
We have some trenches needing digging, and some light carpentry construction (mini-cabins for guests) to be done, some gardens to be re-designed, some small trees moved & replanted, and some earth to be moved or landscaped a bit. Not rocket science, but needs to be done with care and conscientiousness.

An average of 30 hrs/week (6 hrs/day X 5 days) gets you accommodation and at least 2 meals a day.
(Up at 07:30, breakfast, start about 08:30 to about 11:30, lunch, then 12:00 to 3:00PM. The rest of the afternoon & evening is yours)
Weekends and evenings are yours to explore, swim, trail-ride, canoe, hike, or loll around in a hammock. We also have a space set aside for clients and guests who like to tent-camp, so the atmosphere here is kind of like summer camp all the time... evening campfires some nights, some social time, etc.

Gain knowledge & practice in each of the areas of work to be done. Learn about solar during the installment of the system. Learn about wind energy during tower setup & installment. Learn about landscaping and other tasks. Build up some personal credits and references here for future travels, adventures and jobs.

The photos below should give you an idea of the natural beauty of our place. The existing growing area is going to be expanded and moved. HelpX guests who have some knowledge of some organic farming practices will be welcome to add to our existing knowledge-base. In addition to the usual veggie crops done, we are hoping to start a shiitake mushroom operation, and lay in the basics for a ginseng zone if possible (in anticipation of its long, slow growth time).
