The Project

is all about creating an ecologically conscious and family-oriented community space on the beautiful island of Tenerife.
Our finca is situated between the mountains and the northern coastline near to a small town untouched by tourism. We are a new project so there is a lot of exciting work to be done and the opportunity to really see how each day`s work greatly contributes to the overall beauty and functionality of the project.
As the project continues to develop so does the work, so we ask volunteers to have an open mind, peaceful attitude, and a hardworking spirit. Most of the work will be in the gardens and greenhouses planting, harvesting, and tending to our many fruits, vegetables, and other plants around the finca, however there is also plenty of structural and creative work to be done as well. We would love to host volunteers with knowledge and experience in gardening or construction, or anyone interested in learning more about these skills as well as how to live in community with others. In joining our project not only will volunteers have the opportunity to learn the fundamentals of permaculture and the inner workings of an eco project but they will also be welcomed into a super friendly and forward thinking group of people which includes other volunteers and the many friends of the finca. We provide excellent meals, fresh out of our ecological garden with breakfast, lunch, and dinner from Monday to Friday. We ask for a minimum stay of 45 days. In our experience it often takes volunteers a more then two weeks to feel fully connected to the vision of the project as well as the vibe of the finca and surrounding community, so volunteers interested in staying longer than 45 days are very happily welcome.
We are especially looking for :
- A longterm gardener, at least 3 month's
- Help with organising and leading skills, knowledge in gardening, construction, powerpoint, grafic design and fluent in spanish + english for at least 6 month´s

Also looking for females and males who are responsible, in good and healthy physical condition, are hardworking, nature lovers, and have positive attitudes. Volunteers should be mature and independent but also work well with others as most of the work that we do is done together. It isn`t necessary that volunteers have prior knowledge of permaculture or ecological farming but we ask that they be thoughtful and curious learners. We love to share our knowledge and experience with volunteers and ask for hard work and creative energy in return.

The work on the finca varies as the project continues to develop so we ask that volunteers be flexible. The bulk of the work will be in our gardens and greenhouses so expect to get dirty and please bring appropriate clothing and footwear. There is some structural work to be done as well as creative projects to improve the overall functionality and beauty of the finca. We hope that volunteers feel at home and are inspired to add to the project in new ways. We love fresh energy and new ideas.
Volunteers sleep in tents with mattresses in our cool and spacious greenhouse area :) The greenhouse space is exclusively for volunteers and has funky mismatched furniture, a reading and meditation corner, a stereo, and is open but covered from the rain. It`s a very cool space that we hope to further develop with plants and to decorate in the future with the help of our volunteers.

Please, if it's possible bring your own sleeping bag and tent, for hiking tour`s in your free time.

There is also a separate house with a fully functioning kitchen, bathroom, outdoor shower, and social space with tables and couches. There are many beautiful spaces through out the finca that are perfect to relax and enjoy the sweetness of nature.
Volunteers work five hours a day, typically in the mornings and afternoons, and then have the rest of the day free to enjoy the tranquility of the finca or to explore the rest of the island. We are more than happy to suggest or arrange trips to local towns, beaches, and mountains, though we have found that volunteers often like to relax and chat with one another during time off.
We speak Spanish and English here on the finca, often practice yoga and meditation, and play music together. There is the opportunity to practice Spanish if volunteers are interested in improving language and to learn about cooking and crafting in bio conscious ways. Please include any related hobbies or musical instruments in your message.

The nearest town is an easy twenty minute walk from the finca and although small and quiet has a small square, a few cafes and restaurants, a supermarket, and a few shops. There is also a friendly neighborhood beach with a natural swimming pool very near to the finca as well as beautiful ocean side cliffs to watch the sunset.
