The farm is a unique community-centered organic farm/art studio/creativity and sustainability retreat. Located in the Stone Valley of Southwest Vermont, we are remote, but surrounded by fields, lakes, rivers, hiking trails, and the charm of small New England towns. The closest food/basics shopping is 10 minutes away by car, though there are larger towns within 30-45 minutes, and farmers markets abound. There are great hiking trails nearby (and all over the area), the lake is a 10-minute drive, and the river swimming hole a 10-minute walk. The area is great for biking. There is cell service and wifi internet.

I am a ceramic artist and the farm is in the early stages of development. Though the facilities are in place, help is needed to finish the facility, and the production of vegetables. HelpX volunteers will assist with vegetable and flower gardening, forestry and light construction (painting, etc.), and other property duties 4-6 hours a day, 4-5 days a week in exchange for room, veggies from the garden, excursions, and ceramic instruction (if wanted). Free time and days each week are yours to explore or relax. If you have construction skills, all the better! Bike, Kayak, canoe available for use. We accept volunteers May-December, and the maximum stay is one month (though that could be negotiated).

The farm is suitable for singles, couples. Not really suitable for young children. Accommodations are in the "art barn," a spectacular 200-year old barn that houses studio spaces and bedrooms and has a full kitchen and shower. There is also a composting toilet and an outhouse. There is also plenty of camping space, if you prefer. No smoking is allowed inside any building, and there is a strict Drug Free policy. Languages spoken: English, French, Spanish.
