Cozy little house in beautiful Santa Cruz, on a marine sanctuary 4km from the beach. Excellent walking trails within easy reach. Bicycles available for use.

You'll become a part of our family while you're here. We have one aloof cat, and many night visitors to the garden--opossums, raccoons, a skunk. The ample garden, which is quite forested, gets many birds including the occasional woodpecker. Bob is an electrical engineer who enjoys guitar and camping in his spare time; I'm a jewelry designer and dealer, gardener, and I teach English as a second language. Friendly neighborhood. I speak some Japanese, Spanish, and French. We have an extensive library.

We're open to learning new things and trying new cuisine, so you're encouraged to cook dinners for us. We also have many odd jobs involving light labor. We eat mostly organic meals, often vegetarian, though it must be said that Bob is a Texan, so meat is kind of a religion to him. (You're guaranteed to enjoy at least one Texas barbecue while here. Vegan? No problem; smoked tofu is delicious.)

Smoking okay outside. Please come prepared to buy groceries for one meal a day. We'll provide a light breakfast and some dinners. One week stay only, please, and females or couples only. If you need a few extra days stopover, and we're getting along well, you may stay for a nominal fee plus cooking duty. Note: we're currently booking for the spring and summer of 2020. Please write if you'll be traveling then.
Thanks for your interest!
