This is a 19th century farm located in the heart of the Lakes Region in central Maine. Our mission is to bring this place back to life. We are mostly homesteaders, growing a range of vegetables, flowers and herbs and raising some Toulouse geese, ducks, chickens and other animals.

If you are interested in Mycology, Self Sufficiency, Korean Natural Farming, Single Source Production, Farm Generated Fertility, Fermentation, Foraging, Wild Crafting and Herbalism, then this is the opportunity for you. Unlike more established farms this is an opportunity for variety and to have your ideas put into practice in the creation of our community.

While the farm itself is a relatively new operation, we draw on years of experience in agriculture, food production, herbalism, and primitive skills. Our focus in the next few seasons will be both soil and infrastructure building – while there will be plenty of weeding, mulching, pruning, and other traditional garden tasks to be done, we’ll also need help with simple building projects, tending animals, creation of plant extracts, food preservation, firewood, and other interesting work.

We prefer stays of at least a week, but can be flexible about shorter stays for the right person/people. Helpers will stay in a well-appointed bunk house with an outdoor shower, camp kitchen, and outhouse.

Our farm is situated on over 200 rolling acres in the foothills of the White Mountains – on a clear day we can see Mount Washington. We are located a little over an hour to Portland, the coast, or White Mountain National Forest, and we are within walking distance of a nice swimming hole. This is Vacationland at its finest!

There is no public transportation out to the farm, but we can arrange pick ups and drop offs at the beginning and end of your stay with us in Augusta, Maine’s capital city, which is 20 miles from the farm. During your stay, there won’t be regular transportation available – you are welcome to share a ride when we are going to the market but special trips won’t be available. However as our community grows there are ever more opportunities locally.
