We are looking for harvest helpers on our off grid, certified Organic Almond and Fig farm in a tranquil, beautiful and remote part of the Sierra de Contraviesa, Las Alpujarras. It's a taste of the real rural Spain, a simple life but a satisfying one.
We need help with the harvest of almonds and figs in September, October and early November, working approx 5 hours 5 days/pwk, but we are flexible on the arrangement of longer days/time off.
We moved from the UK about 10 years ago and found the most beautiful farm over looking the Sierra Nevada mountains. We accidentally became almond farmers!

You will help harvest almonds by laying out nets, knocking trees with poles and collecting into sacks and figs by picking for sun drying on racks. Some help with the vegetables would also be appreciated. The land is steep and reasonable level of fitness is required, in return you will have a double bedroom and bathroom - shower & hot water. Camping if you prefer.

Live and eat as family; we have large vegetable plots and eggs, I also make kefir, kombucha and fermented foods; can cater for vegetarian and vegan. We have dogs, cats and chickens.
The farm is isolated 4.5km up a track, you will enjoy nature and tranquility, there is plenty of good walking and space to relax. Lifts will be offered when we are going out e.g. to local villages, market or yoga.
We offer an opportunity to experience rural spain and learn about organic farming, living off grid with solar electricity and hot water, practice English.
English, spanish and some french spoken.
