We are currently looking for some farm help between NOW to the end of October 2017. We prefer long term stay, but will consider a short stay as well. We enjoy meeting people from other cultures and countries. At present time one of our project is to plant our garden, preparing the land to move our plants from the green house to the open garden. As well as we are getting ready to cut our hay and will be needing help to bring it in to the barns.

Our lovely 25 acre hobby farm is located In Lumby, in the interior of British Columbia. The Lumby Valley and area is known all over the world as the Hang Gliding and Paragliding competition capital of Canada. We are at the foot of one of the most popular launch “Cooper’s” which during summer fills the sky with all the colorful gliders. We are surrounded by the Monashee mountains and spectacular lakes. A true outdoors paradise.

We are a family of four living the great life of farming and are looking for people from all over the world that are interested on experiencing farm life on our self-sustainable hobby farm. We share our land with our sheep, beef cows and “Bella” our Jersey cow that provide us with rich and delicious milk, horses, pasture meat chickens, egg layers, cats and “Buddy” our red-healer dog. We are looking for someone that loves animal husbandry, hardworking and willing to learn, physically fit that can be self motivated and always ready to help on a variety of farm tasks.

Daily chores will be in the morning and late afternoon. The rest of the day is spent on projects from gardening to cleaning up the barn. It is hard to list duties since they will vary from day to day.

Simple rules that are a must during your stay:

No smoking or drugs
Be respectful
Be clean and tidy

Your accommodations can be in the house or in a cabin located on our farm. All meals provided and will be shared with the family.
